Saskatoon Music Festival 2012

Congratulations to all those who competed in the

Saskatoon Music Festival!

The Saskatoon Music Festival ran from April 28th to May 5th, hosting classes for piano in Jazz/Blues/Ragtime, Classical Sonatas, Duet Teams, Baroque repertoire, Movie Themes, and more. Students were challenged to grow in their playing and reach this ambitious performance goal. Some students received certificates for their playing, others achieved personal bests, and all returned with positive feelings about their playing and themselves.

.

Many thanks to the Saskatoon Music Festival Committee, the University of Saskatchewan Music Department, piano adjudicators

Peggy L’Hoir (Biggar, SK), Michael Oike (Winnipeg, MB), and Alfred Fisher (Kingston, ON) for new ideas and much encouragement!

Spring Studio Recitals

Congratulations to all students who played so well at our annual studio recital!

It was a wonderful afternoon of music as parents, grandparents, friends, and siblings heard a wide  variety of music. Selections included pieces by Canadian composers, beautiful Chopin waltzes, parent-student duet teams, movie themes, and many other exciting styles.

A great thanks to the Saskatoon Public Library, Frances Morrison Branch, for hosting our annual recital, thanks to the parents for providing treats for after, and thanks again to the students who put in many, many hours of hard work in preparation!

As well as a lovely afternoon of music, it was a good way to practice performing for those with upcoming music competitions and exams. Good luck to students with those ambitious goals!
